Top Ten Tuesday- Freebie (Childhood Favourites)
6:46 AM
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by one of my favourite blogs- The Broke and the Bookish. If you are like me and love creating lists, then this is the meme for you! This week's topic is is a freebie! Since I am a new blogger, I figured I would pick a topic that will give you some more incite in to who I am. So here it is- my top ten childhood favourites! If you participated please leave a link to your post down below. I truly love reading, and commenting on these posts.
2. Hardy Boys- Hardy Boys came second only to Nancy Drew when I was growing up. I loved mysteries back then, and I still do these days. Maybe I have Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys to thank for that!
3. Charlotte's Web- I vividly remember my dad buying me this book many years ago, and it is very special to me. I still have that copy displayed proudly on my shelf.
4. Matilda- I was in love with both the book and the movie when I was growing up. I felt like I could relate to her in some ways. This is definitely a book I will be reading to my future children!
5. Goosebumps- Even though they used to give me nightmares, I still really loved Goosebumps! Just thinking about them brings me back to childhood!
6. Animorphs-I was reading Animorphs around the same time as Goosebumps- and I feel the same way about both series. They terrified me and I loved it!
7. Anne of Green Gables- Did every Canadian girl worship this book, or was that just in my town? I love this one so much I have it in many different covers! Here are just a few...
8. Black Beauty- My grandfather owns a barn, and currently owns 27 horses. I grew up around horses, and because of that I adored Black Beauty. It is also the first book that I remember making me cry.
9. Little Critters- My dad used to read these, as well as Berenstain Bears, to me every single night. I had a lot of them memorized, so I would call him out if he was tired and tried to skip a few pages!
10. The Berenstain Bears- If I had to choose my absolute favourite books as a child then I would have to choose The Berenstain Bears!
Top Ten Childhood Favourites
1. Nancy Drew- These were the books that all the girls in my elementary school would fight over during library time. Seeing a row of those yellow spines brings back a lot of nostalgia! These are three were my favourites- and the ones that I keep on my shelf to this day!
2. Hardy Boys- Hardy Boys came second only to Nancy Drew when I was growing up. I loved mysteries back then, and I still do these days. Maybe I have Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys to thank for that!

Great choice of topic this week! I just finished spring cleaning my room at home and found a ton of my childhood books which brought back loads of happy memories. I love Matilda and Charlotte's Web, both were books from my childhood too. I have heard loads of good things about Anne of Gables but never actually read it, I may have to check them out one day. I read a ton of Thomas the Tank Engine books when I was a kid, I had masses of them! Happy Reading! :)
ReplyDeleteI love coming across old books! My brother loved Thomas the Tank Engine books as well! Completely forgot about those!
DeleteI love Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew and Anne of Green Gables. Let me add Little Women to my list. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't read Little Women until I was older unfortunately! But my mom and I watched the movie all the time! We still do once a year.
DeleteNancy Drew was my favorite growing up. She might still be one of my favorites actually. Oh, and I can't believe I haven't read Matilda yet, but I will..hopefully someday soon.. :) Great list, and thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Matilda is a must for book lovers!
DeleteI LOVE this topic. All of these (except Animorphs) are books I read and loved as a child as well. The Berenstain Bears were my absolute favorites. I spent a lot of hours designing my own treehouse home in my mind and on paper :)
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Yay I love finding other people who loved The Berenstain Bears!
DeleteI love this topic! Black Beauty, Charlotte's Web and Matilda were all among my favourite books when I was younger too!

Thank you!!
DeleteI loved Black Beauty and Charlotte's Web when I was little, but Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Little Princess was my FAVOURITE. Until Harry Potter came along, of course!
